During early part of the decade of 90s when the demand for standard Medicare was only increasing then he just obtained graduation from Dhaka Medical College. That was the time when he was dreaming to have a Medicare facility enriched with developed and modern Medicare arrangements with his face and eyes all the time indicating the same. The limitations of country’s Medicare system hit his mind, during his student life at Dhaka Medical College. Subsequently on completion of internship from Medical College, he took Diploma from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. During that time his concepts went deeper on procedure of Modern Medicare diagnosis and technology. He took up the initiatives to set up a Diagnostic Centre at Dhanmondi, without any delay on return from there. With the pension money of father, hopes with heart’s content and firmness, and also in combination with modern Medicare equipment and specialist physicians he set up Lab Aid. Then there was neither any prior experience nor any instance, nothing was in front of Dr.Shamim to set up specialized clinic. He bought medical equipment from abroad with the endorsements of sufficient technicians, nurses and physicians. Dr. Shamim noticed there is sufficient lack of para-medical workers with technical and medical knowledge. In consideration of the same, later on he founded a training institute named ‘Bangladesh Institute of Dental and Medical Technology’. In this way Dr. Shamim’s dream moved ahead. Subsequently in years Lab Aid has become one of the Medicare Institutions of the country. Dream of this entrepreneur physician did not remain stopped there. In the year 2003 he went to neighboring India for treatment of heart disease of his mother, there Dr. Shamim saw Bangladeshi patients in huge numbers, those who ran to that country for standard treatment. These patients had to incur plenty of expenses in connection with treatment and stay there. Keeping the same in consideration, Shamim founded Lab Aid Cardiac Hospital. During the gone time, here successful by-pass surgeries were concluded for a mentionable number of patients. At present this institution founded by him attained specialty in any treatment of heart diseases. Now with severe heart patients, people without inclining towards India, Singapore and Thailand are crowding at Lab Aid Hospital. Just after successful opening up of Lab Aid Cardiac Hospital, Dr. Shamim took the initiative to set up Lab Aid Specialized Hospital. This institution is accomplishing treatment of all complex diseases except heart diseases, is providing Medicare services to more severe patients including Kidney transplantation, chemotherapy, kidney dialysis, tumor operation and joint replacement. With the assistance of about 60 specialist physicians, in the year 2006 this was run into operations by Dr. Shamim. This visionary did not stay stopped here just. In order to fulfill the demand of skilled and competent manpower he founded State University of Bangladesh. This institution is performing the responsibility of administrative management of Trinity College of London in this country. Dr. Shamim’s dream is to set up a Health Insurance Company. He dreams to set up a Medical College of post-graduate level, a biotechnology research center and a 500 bed Hospital. A construction work is going for a modern pharmaceutical company at Savar. There on one side herbal Medicare products and another side allopathic Medicare products would be manufactured. This rare entrepreneur personality will advance ahead in service of the country and the people, more far-off-, today this is the belief of others also.
