A special name in the housing sector of the country is Dr.Toufiq M.Seraj. From the time of taking responsibility of Sheltech Pvt. Ltd., in the year 1988 he is only moving ahead. The unlimited force which has inspired him, to move ahead in this way incessantly, is self-confidence. By obtaining PhD in Town Planning, Toufiq M.Seraj took the helms of country’s Housing and Real Estate sector as the field for best application of the same. Depending upon the self confidence, which was born from the education in this subject, he stepped into work as entrepreneur. Sheltech   attracted attention of everybody in the housing sector, by starting projects one after another under his direction. Not only as an entrepreneur but also for the reason of quality-standard of Sheltech and aristocratic building technology he achieved ‘well-familiarization’ very shortly. Under his competent and skilled leadership, not only Sheltech but entire housing sector developed. By taking up the responsibilities of Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB), the organization of entrepreneurs in real estate sector, he provided the leadership to  the entire sector in order to reach a matured state. Here is the specialty of Dr. Toufiq M.Seraj. Here is his variation, also from other ten entrepreneurs. By taking Engineering degree from United Kingdom’s Liverpool University, he started professional life in the same subject. Dr.Toufiq M.Seraj’s most successful step has been the construction of eye-catching apartments, in harmony with choice and demand of upper middle class people living in Dhaka. Sheltech implemented more than 55 projects under his leadership. On the other hand, by wide publicity at home and abroad and by having fairs, housing and real estate sector also flourished in an unthinkable manner. As a researcher in Town Planning, he is writing regularly including composition of articles on ‘Town Planning’. Still his sayings in different meetings and seminars on housing of lower income people of Bangladesh and planned urbanization become centre-point to draw attention of others. Mr. Toufiq M.Seraj is also the President of Bangladesh Institute of Planners. Some of the objectives of this time are planned habitation, environment friendly home construction and construction of habitats considering the needs of future. Incessant efforts of Toufiq M.Seraj to implement this objective is praised and greeted by the wise circle. Considering the subject of preservation of environment everybody expects his initiative would have more meaningful role in future.
